Jürgen Walter Joins the Kathrein Executive Board as COO

Kathrein has appointed Jürgen Walter to the Executive Board. On 11 September, the experienced company manager has assumed the position of Chief Operating Officer. He is now responsible for the Automotive, Broadcast, Products and Solutions business units as well as for Operations.

“The Kathrein Group is characterised by high technology expertise and is taking part in shaping the development of an increasingly connected world. I am very happy that Jürgen Walter will be significantly involved in the successful development of our business fields in the future,” says Anton Kathrein, CEO of the Kathrein Group. “Jürgen Walter succeeds Frank Ullmann, who is leaving the company after 15 years. My special thanks and my personal appreciation go to Mr Ullmann,” adds Anton Kathrein.

Since late 2015, Jürgen Walter (49) has been responsible for the Solutions business unit within the Kathrein Group. He will continue to head this business unit, which comprises an integrated hardware, software and service portfolio, until a successor for him has been found. Jürgen Walter holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and has many years of experience in the IT and telecommunications industry. He held various key positions with Siemens and Nokia Siemens Networks. Before he started working for the Kathrein Group, he was CEO Central Europe and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fujitsu Technology Solutions GmbH, where he was responsible for the Fujitsu business in the DACH countries of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
