Following his studies of electrical engineering at Karlsruhe University, Anton Kathrein joined the company as an engineer on 1 September 2012. A few weeks later, after the unexpected death of his father, Prof. Anton Kathrein, he took on entrepreneurial responsibility for KATHREIN-Werke KG (now KATHREIN SE) and the Kathrein Group as Chief Executive Officer. He is responsible for Group Strategy, Technology Management, HR and Corporate Communications. Anton Kathrein is Chairman of the Southeast Bavarian branch of bayme vbm (The Bavarian Employers’ Associations for the Metalworking and Electrical Industries), and an executive board member of the Bavarian branch of ZVEI (German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association) and of vbw (Bavarian Industry Association). He is furthermore a member of the Advisory Board of the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS and a member of the General Assembly of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Munich and Upper Bavaria. Anton Kathrein is also an honorary judge at the Rosenheim Labour Court and chairman of the board of the Kathrein Cultural Foundation as well as of Rosenheim´s business incubator Stellwerk18.
