Pre-opening of “Stellwerk18”
As chairman of the Stellwerk18 trade association, our CEO Anton Kathrein was also present at the event. In his welcome address, he emphasised the added value of the business incubator for the entire region. “The city and the whole district will benefit if jobs remain in Rosenheim. Another important aspect is the network character. The start-up centre will give young entrepreneurs the opportunity to connect with potential clients, universities and other organisations,” said Anton Kathrein.
Shortage of skilled workers is also a problem for start-up entrepreneurs
Dorothee Bär took her time to talk to the founders and had a lot of questions for them. They told her about their successes and initial difficulties, innovative digital products and their anticipation of finally being able to move into the modern offices at the train station in Rosenheim. It soon became clear that the shortage of skilled workers was also affecting start-up entrepreneurs in the digital world. Some criticised that there was no training available as an IT specialist at the vocational school in Rosenheim. “People have to go to Traunstein or Munich. But it should be offered here so that we can find qualified personnel,” said Martin Angermeyer, who has been part of “Stellwerk18” from day one.
“Stellwerk18” supports IT and digital start-ups to develop into a successful business. The new, modern premises are the perfect setting for implementing technologically innovative concepts. Support also comes from “Stellwerk 18 – Digitale Wirtschaft Südostoberbayern e.V.”, the Digital Economy of South East Upper Bavaria trade association. The association consists of notable companies from South East Upper Bavaria and Tyrol, among them Kathrein. By involving the Universities of Applied Sciences Rosenheim and Kufstein, they aim at raising the interest in and understanding for digital innovations.
The founders are expected to move into the offices at the end of August. The official inauguration of the start-up centre with a ceremony and an open day is scheduled for 7 September.
