GM Once Again Recognises Kathrein Automotive’s Top Delivery Quality

Kathrein has received yet another award for being an outstanding supplier. The KATHREIN Automotive production facilities in Suzhou/China and Jacutinga/Brazil were awarded the “GM Supplier Quality Excellence Award”. The distinction proves that the operation is one of the international car manufacturer’s top suppliers.

For the second time since 2013, the plant in Suzhou fulfilled the stringent requirements set by the General Motors Group (GM). Thirteen different criteria are taken account for the coveted award; these include timely delivery of high-quality products, quality systems, smooth production processes and the company’s innovative strength. In 2014, both plants delivered a combined total of more than 5.5 million components to the US based multinational corporation. GM owns various brands such as Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Opel.

“This prize is only awarded to a few selected suppliers and is therefore a valuable recognition of the performance of our teams in China and Brazil. These awards are proof of our high quality, reliability and innovative work as a supplier in the automotive sector”, stated Michael Heise, CEO of KATHREIN Automotive. “We feel valued and encouraged, and will use this as an incentive to continue to improve our work and ourselves every single day.”

Frank Ullmann, Chief Operating Officer of the Kathrein Group, added: “I would like to congratulate the Automotive business unit on this great success. The award demonstrates Kathrein’s excellent reputation as a reliable supplier.” In the last years, Kathrein has received various distinctions from world-class partners, including the “Ericsson Supplier of the Year Award 2012“, the “Daimler Supplier Award 2012” and the “Vodafone Supplier Award 2013”.
