Kathrein and Panasonic to Cooperate on Hotel TV Solutions
IPTV technology (Internet Protocol Television) enables a cost-effective and comfortable distribution system that provides the rooms with a wide range of TV channels. Kathrein’s high-quality satellite reception systems and IPTV headends provide the signal source and distribution to the Panasonic TVs within the buildings. As a result, satellite signals are transmitted via network structures (IPTV) to the various receivers in top HD quality. The wide range of reception possibilities is particularly useful: the signal can be received over LAN, powerline or even easier over wireless LAN.
The innovative Kathrein systems close the gap between conventional signal distribution and modern glass fibre technology especially for hotel TV. Together, Kathrein and Panasonic generate an extremely high-class picture and sound quality, regardless of the hotel size. Other advantages are low running and installation costs as well as the benefit of having a centralised TV channel list management system.
"We are happy to have found such a strong partner in Panasonic. As a leading TV manufacturer, Panasonic offers the ideal basis for the optimal use of our first-class IPTV headend system,” says Andreas Wimmer, Sales Manager for the DACH countries at Kathrein.
"As the world's leading manufacturer in the field of satellite reception, Kathrein is a very important cooperation partner for Panasonic’s Hotel TV Solutions. The high quality standards of our products and the development of future-oriented solutions is what links us," says Dirk Schulze, Head of Product Marketing at Panasonic Germany.
