Kathrein Presents New Compact Amplifier VGX 242D-1G2
The cutting-edge device concept with its HF chamber shielding system offers unique advantages. Its outstanding shielding characteristics between forward path, return path and other functional units in the device enable superior dynamic data at a high amplification. The active components are cooled from two sides, thus ensuring reliable operation over a wide temperature range. It goes without saying that the latest GaN technology was used in this amplifier too.
The power supply unit was newly developed and guarantees the best possible efficiency combined with ultimate reliability. The integrated power factor correction actively supports an economic remote feed concept. The plug-in 2-pilot control allows the cost-efficient use of the amplifier for controlled and uncontrolled operation. The optional FSK transponder controls the Ingress Control Switches (ICS) and enables remote software updates.
All amplifier settings are made electronically using the WTE 10 WLAN module. This adapter provides a convenient means of configuring the connected amplifier via a PC, tablet or smartphone. The new graphical user surface enables the clear and intuitive changing of all device parameters.
Plug-in diplexers offer, as usual, individually configurable frequency ranges in the forward and return path. The selectable upper frequency range allows the stepped extension from 1 GHz to 1.2 GHz.
The new VGX amplifiers with their new device concept, outstanding data and low operating costs are definitely setting new standards. You can use them in any HFC network architecture to take full advantage of the new DOCSIS 3.1 standard.
