Kathrein Sets New Standards for Digital Single-cable Multiswitches

Full-Band Capture (FBC) is the magic technical word that Kathrein is using for its new twin single-cable multi-switch generation. Kathrein now presents the EXD 1532 and the EXD 2532 which are two single cable multi-switches of the second generation, they are characterised by modern development and large-scale integrated circuit technology.

By using a rotary switch, you can set various user band configurations for the two outputs of the input cable. With 2 x 16 (32) user bands, two parallel large distributions can be realized. The structural conditions require an asymmetrical distribution, such as also 24/8 or 30/legacy can be selected. The version with 24/8 user ribbons is particularly advantageous for plants, in which new Sat>IP- Server EXIP 4124 or multi-tuner receiver such as the UFSconnect 926 fully demonstrate the user bands offered.
The "lower" 8 user bands can be addressed if necessary with the 'old' EN 50494 single cable standard when required, so that the installer through skilful distribution can also satisfy the owner of older single-cable receivers.

The single-cable standards EN 50494 and EN 50607 are each implemented with PIN-code. Both digital single cable multi-switch feature automatic gain adjustment (AGC) for both outputs, as well as "Kathrein Power-Saving" for an optimum energy balance. There is also an adjustment for future wideband technology, which allows multi-feed reception with two wideband LNBs.
