Kathrein Strengthens Activities in North America

Kathrein has appointed a new executive for its sales activities in the USA and Canada. James Nevelle succeeds Manfred Münzel, who was in charge of business in North America since 1999. This new appointment goes hand in hand with the renaming of Kathrein-Scala into Kathrein USA. In addition, the headquarters of the sales office in Medford, Oregon have been relocated to Dallas, Texas.

“I’m looking forward to making a contribution to the future of the Kathrein Group”, remarked James Nevelle about the change. “We have the best requirements for sustainable growth in the USA and Canada, and we can benefit from our unique strengths - outstanding quality, high reliability and in-depth customer care.” The executive manager intends to show customers how they can intelligently solve challenges in the field of communications technology with expertise from Kathrein.

The new Dallas offices are an important part of Kathrein’s growth strategy. “On the one hand we benefit from the proximity to important customers, and on the other, from a very interesting employment market”, said James Nevelle. The new office functions as both sales and customer centre for North America.

“The USA and Canada are among our key markets, and we see a lot of potential for our pioneering solutions”, explained Joe Doering, CSO of the Kathrein Group. “Mr Nevelle has profound knowledge in the telecommunications sector. With his wealth of expertise, he’ll substantially help Kathrein make the most of its unique expertise.”

James Nevelle studied Technology Management at the University of Denver and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Washington. He began his career in 1995 at US West Communications in Denver, where he worked as a project engineer and strategy manager for the broadband business unit until 1998. Following this he worked at XEL Communications in Aurora and Verso Technologies in Atlanta in different Sales, Product Management, Marketing and Operations positions. From 2007, James Nevelle was co-founder and CEO of the telecommunications company Sorrento Networks in Centennial, Colorado.
