Kathrein Supports Rosenheim’s Junior Ice Hockey Talents

Kathrein will sponsor the youth section of Starbulls Rosenheim with an annual grant for their junior programmes. The technology company intends to support the development of the club’s young talents. In return, the sponsoring for the Rosenheim ice hockey stadium was discontinued. With their sponsoring, Kathrein has so far indirectly subsidised the Starbulls team. The city management states that they are in the middle of negotiations with a prospective new sponsor and will inform the public about the outcome in the near future.

“We consider it an essential part of our corporate responsibility to support sports-loving kids and young people from our area,“ underlines Anton Kathrein, CEO of the Kathrein Group. “Ice hockey has a long tradition in Rosenheim and we want to contribute to the team’s future success.” Instead of sponsoring them indirectly via the stadium, they want to give the money directly to the Starbulls team.

The support the Starbulls get from Kathrein is very important for building up the junior programmes. “We are very happy that Kathrein will actively support Rosenheim’s flagship club and back up our talent hotbed,” says Marcus Thaller, member of the club´s executive committee. Rosenheim has been a training stronghold of the German ice hockey for decades. “Our success shows in the Starbulls First Team. More than half of the players of the DEL2 team were recruited from the Rosenheim junior team.”
