Welcome to Issue 6 of CONNECTED WORLD.
The 365-metre-high Çamlica Tower in Istanbul sets new benchmarks: Up to 160 TV and radio channels can be broadcast to millions of households while over 150 monitoring sensors guarantee best performance at all times.
This unique and complex broadcast system was made possible by combining key competencies from several Kathrein Group companies and collaborating with proven partners. Our "Spotlight on" section takes a closer look at this project of superlatives while highlighting key trends and opportunities in the broadcast industry.
At Kathrein creating synergy to the benefit of customers extends beyond just projects. One example: Kathrein and CommScope have signed a cross-license agreement for parts of their patent portfolios to increase each company’s ability to develop new solutions and provide customers with an even better service.
In another collaboration Kathrein and Panasonic are offering IPTV technology to transmit satellite signals to television screens in high-definition quality (HD). This is of special interest to hotels, hospitals and public institutions.
Collaboration also plays a key role when it comes to our CSR activities. Examples of partnerships include "Jugend forscht" (Europe's leading youth science and technology contest), "Girls'Day" (Federal Chancellery in Berlin) and the multimedia exhibition "Pharaoh" (Lokschuppen in Rosenheim).
